very substantial, roomy, great grip on soles, solid support for ankles, comfortable to walk

Terribly disappointed with these shoes. They are incredibly uncomfortable to walk in on sidewalk alone. I definitely wouldn't hike in these. The construction of the shoe causes awful ankle pain when walking. Thanks to Columbia's weird return and exchange policies I am now stuck with these shoes for which I paid full price.

Super "comfy in the breaking-in/street phase. Took 'em out on their first hike (in FL)... mostly flat, packed dirt, roots, soft/sand, mud, and they performed well!

I loved these shoes! They are amazing to wear, true to size and super comfy! I don't have to worry about getting my feet wet and they didn't hurt me, which is honestly a miracle. I have very sensitive feet and I was a little scared of purchasing them. However, I have no complains whatsoever! 100% worth it
