This is my third jacket over the last 25 years and have never been to satisfied with the quality.

I love the color and I've been a fan of the Interchange concept for many years. My old jacket (also Columbia Interchange; basically the same as this) was starting to show signs of wear after 10 years (very respectable). It was size M and fit perfectly. So that's what I bought again. To be sure, I did check the size guide but that was inconclusive. I have a 39.5"cm neck and a 105cm chest. And I'm slim, so I look like the guy in the size guide. The charts suggested S due to the neck and somewhere between M and L due to the chest. When I received the jacket it looked a bit bulkier than the old, but I didn't think too much of it. Different colors and different fabrics can look quite diffrent. After being cold outside a few times now I went back to check the size again. The "M" that I got is not M. Not even close. This is way larger, which is likely why I'm cold with it. Comparing the old and the new inner jacket, the new is around 2" (5cm) larger around the waist. How does that make sense? Who is this sized for? Not the guy in the size guide, as he would have the same problem. Should I have gotten S instead? But then the sleeves would likely have been too short. Currently I am wearing the old inner jacket with the new outer shell, as otherwise I'm cold with this new jacket. Very disappointing. Of course I have been wearing it, so I can't send it back. I would otherwise.

The zipper broke in less than a month after I purchased the jacket (light wear only). I exchanged it at a store and now the second one has broken as well. Columbia is refusing to accept a return, only to repair or replace it, which is pointless.

Fits a bit tight around the chest and the length is too long.

It seems to be a great jacket but runs large. I usually wear a XL but this is too big. I am going to try a large.
