I have other Columbia pants, I'm always a size 36x32, but I get these pants where the waist is 34 and the hems of the pants are size 42, they look like flared pants, I'm so disappointing, it's impossible to think that a brand like Columbia is declining so much in their quality controls. Good fit. Lots of big pockets The inside leg has a strange double seam. I bought the men's pants due to better pockets and features that aren't available in women's so maybe it has the feature for extra room, but it still seems weird that the gusset goes all the way down the leg. It made the bottoms of the legs too baggy, so I sewed the 2 seams close together to about 3 quarters of the way up each leg. It needs some of the room to make sitting more comfortable. Since I am using for canoeing that is a good feature. The inside of the waist band is soft like flannel and very comfortable and has a small amount of elastic, but not too much. Overall I am pretty happy with the pants but the picture makes them look more tapered in the leg than they actually were. My husband got the same design and seems happy with his.
